Student Sponsorship

Sponsorship

From the outset, Dance Centre Kenya’s mission has been to promote and encourage dance throughout East Africa. A cornerstone of this mission has been to include those who come from an underprivileged background. DCK’s sponsorship program has been running since its inception in 2015. Scholarship students come to us from arts programs in local schools and in the slums and they are selected on merit through auditions.

Scholarship is offered at several levels, described in detail here below. Scholarships can be offered by individuals, families, groups or companies. We invite you to join us in our mission and to become a sponsor of a deserving young artist.

Artists for Africa & Dance Centre Kenya Partnership

Artists for Africa, a US registered charity, has joined DCK in our goal to enhance the educational opportunities for underprivileged children in Kenya. Through the Gold level sponsorship program, children from underpriveledged backgrounds are able to dance five or six days a week, providing them with opportunity to train at an international standard .

DCK sponsorship is paired with a grant from Artists for Africa to provide housing, nutrition, academic tuition, and transportation for each young artist.

We at DCK are extremely proud of our partnership with Artists for Africa and of the young people who have earned this life changing opportunity. Their lives are forever changed by their exposure to the arts and the education, discipline, confidence, and creativity they will gain. We hope that you will join us in this endeavor.

Thank you!
