Grade 4

Home  /  Grade 4
The Grade 4 classes are most suitable for those who have successfully taken part in the
Grade 3 classes or taken part in an equivalent level of ballet classes. For Grade 4 students to
start preparing for the vocational levels, it is recommended to take at least two Grade 4
classes, one beginning pointe class (on invitation only) and a Pas de Deux class (invitation
only) a week. Kindly contact us for more information about the Pointe and Pas de Deux
classes. Students can expect to keep working on performance quality, strengthening of
ankles (to improve their pointe work), turn-out and more complicated jump sequences
compared to what they learned in Grade 3. They will become more familiar to pirouettes
and other turns.
DCK teachers follow the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus, while also including other
elements to improve flexibility, coordination, strength and develop turn-out in a safe and
healthy way. If students are motivated and consistent in their training they can apply to take
a Class Award or Exam with an examiner from the Royal Academy of Dance.
