Dance Centre Kenya is proud to introduce to you our fourth full length Nutcracker performance. This year, for the very first time in Kenya, we have a live Orchestra - The Nairobi Philharmonic - performing the full score of the Nutcracker accompanied by the Ghetto Classics Children's Choir. They will be under the baton of American Conductor Jonathan Rush joined by additional musicians coming from Europe. Paul Nduati, who has featured in the Kenyan classical music scene as a piano accompanist over the last 10 years, will be the orchestra's

We had an exciting time at Dance Centre Kenya with students coming in for the 2018 Dance Intensive. The kick off was on 27th – 29th August 2018 at the DCK studios at the Lavington Mall, carrying on to our Karen Hardy Studio from 30th August – 1st September 2018. Our primary goal in these workshops is to give young dancers a unique opportunity to experience the highest levels of training in various styles of dance and help them to re-energize and get fit ahead of getting back

We have come to the end of another week of workshops. We have had many students joining us. This has been an amazing time to meet and develop young talent. We have learnt quite a lot as we have taught these young ones. More importantly we have allowed ourselves to become part of these children’s lives from Monday to Friday. We have exposed them to different disciplines of dance and enjoyed teaching them. We have had Gymnastics, Ballet, Musical theatre, Hip hop, Contemporary and African Dance. Watching them

Artist for Africa is a US based charity that seeks to provide support for African arts students, to enable them to take their craft to the next level. Since the establishment of DCK, Artists for Africa has supported many of our students, providing them with housing, school fees, dance wear, and opportunities to travel abroad and participate in international training programs. Currently, 10 of our students are training at the University of South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory in the United States.   They have been joined by former DCK

Good things come to those who wait for our kind of Magic. It's a Kind of Magic was our theme for our end year recitals, and it was magical. We had 2 shows on Saturday at Gems Cambridge and 3 shows at Braeburn Gitanga. This was our way of letting the world know, what we have been up to all year long. The school term has come to a close. If you are thinking of what to do for the holiday to keep the little ones busy, stop!! DCK is offering its annual holiday workshops for 3 weeks in both July and August. The workshops will be an opportunity for the participants  to learn different dance and movement disciplines. The end of the academic year is usually a floury of activities. At Dance Centre it is no different we get to engage with both parents and potential students. This morning Dance Centre Kenya had the privilege of taking part in an end year assembly at Hillcrest International school. Both parents and early learning students were treated to a show piece story of ''Sleeping Beauty'' . The academic year is coming to a close. It has been an amazing year with a whole lot of growth accompanying us as well. We were able to put up 4 productions this year including, our annual Christmas production, The Nutcracker followed by Cinderella. All in all it has been a fantastic. May 26th and 27th 2018.  Dance Centre Kenya will be performing excerpts from Le Corsaire, Don Quixote, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty as well as original Hip Hop and Contemporary pieces, choreographed by our very own teachers at the International Schools & Universities Educational Fair (ISEF) on Saturday and Sunday, May 26th and 27 th at the Hub in Karen. May 8th - May 15th 2018.  The Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) examinations at Dance Centre Kenya will run from May 8 th up to May 15 th 2018. The RAD offers an internationally recognised portfolio of exams designed to motivate and encourage students of all ages and levels of ability. At DCK we host the exams annually.
